1. Introduction and Overview Oomph! is a German rock band formed in Wolfsburg in 1989. Alongside Rammstein and Die Krupps, they are considered pioneers of the Neue Deutsche Härte (NDH) genre, a style that combines heavy metal riffs with electronic music and German lyrics. Unlike Rammstein’s more industrial metal approach, Oomph! incorporates a wider range of electronic genres, including techno, synth-pop, and gothic rock.
