For decades, a frustrating workflow barrier has existed for graphic designers, publishers, and pre-press professionals: the near impossibility of reliably converting a PDF back into a fully editable, native Adobe InDesign (INDD) document.

While PDFs are excellent for final distribution and print, they are notoriously difficult to edit. Standard conversion tools often produce unformatted text, stripped styles, and broken layout structures. Enter —a dedicated software solution designed to solve this exact problem. What is PDF2ID? Developed by Recosoft, PDF2ID is a standalone application that converts PDF documents directly into the native InDesign markup language (IDML). This IDML file can then be opened in any version of Adobe InDesign (CS6 through the latest Creative Cloud releases).
