“This should run on my PC,” Alex muttered. His rig wasn’t top-of-the-line, but it had handled Far Cry 3 and Dishonored just fine.
“All it took,” he told his friend, “was four fixes: GPU settings, core affinity, a config tweak, and one tiny DLL from the community. Don’t give up on an old gem too fast.”
Alex was hyped. He’d just downloaded Prototype 2 , ready to tear through New York Zero as the shape-shifting James Heller. But within minutes of the first mission, the game turned into a slideshow. Every time he sprinted across the infected city or unleashed a tentacle devastator, the framerate tanked. Helicopter explosions made the audio stutter. Even the menus felt sluggish.
