A swarm of Water Clones — liquid doppelgängers of the Crystal Gems — rose from the tide pools. They had no faces, only the shapes of Garnet, Pearl, and Amethyst, but they moved with perfect, cold mimicry.

Then he saw it — a hook on the ceiling above the pedestal. An old maintenance hook for hanging lanterns. He tied the kite string to the rubber chicken, tied the other end to the Moonstone Anchor, and swung the chicken like a lasso.
“Okay, team,” Pearl announced, clapping her hands. “The Sea Shrine’s Lunar Tide Pearl needs to be recalibrated before the full moon rises. If it isn’t, the entire sector’s ocean current could reverse, flooding Beach City’s boardwalk.”
Later, on the beach at sunset, the Gems sat on the warp pad. Amethyst was eating the fry bits. Pearl was quietly rewriting her list to include “one rubber chicken” under emergency equipment. Garnet was staring at the ocean.
