Meryl and Roberto are caught in the chaos. Roberto shields Meryl from debris, sustaining a fatal injury. He tells Meryl to "tell the story right" – a direct callback to his earlier cynicism about journalism. He dies.

In a flashback, Rem explains to the twins that Plants are not machines but bio-engineered life forms that feel pain. Knives witnessed humans beating a Plant to force output. This memory solidifies his hatred. In the present, Knives forces Vash to relive this trauma, trying to make him accept that humanity is parasitic. Trigun Stampede -Dub- Episode 12
